Learn to retrain your brain with your mindset. Sounds tricky, but it’s pretty simple.
Think about it… What brings a sense of pleasure, calmness, or happiness to you? Maybe you want more energy for your kids. Maybe you want to get off of a certain medication. Maybe you’re looking for more confidence in yourself. What is most important to you?
Once you realize what you REALLY want, it will be easier to keep your eyes on the prize.
Start by drawing a new map in your mind that will have you passing on the pizza and ice cream, and choosing better and more desirable choices. For instance, when you get a craving for pizza ask yourself, “Am I even hungry?” If the answer is no, leave the kitchen area and distract yourself by grabbing your favorite book or heading outside for a walk in the fresh air. By leaving the environment where the craving began, you’re more likely move on and forget about it.
As you remap your brain, you are shaping new pathways that, in time, will be stronger than the occasional pizza craving. Be sure these new habits are enriching your life.
