"I only eat candy on Halloween. No lie."
It’s Halloween, which means…tricks, treats, and lots of sugar! Sure, treats come conveniently packaged in small, “fun size” servings. However, a few “fun” treats here and there can really add up. No matter how hard you try to avoid it, you may inadvertently find yourself taking down much more than a king-size portion when it’s all is said and done. Now, that’s scary!!
While one piece of candy won’t make or break your health, it can be hard to stop at just one. After all, the holidays are always a good excuse to indulge in those sweet temptations. However, that indulgence can take its toll, resulting in weight gain, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, and the list goes on.
The best strategy is to be proactive by keeping your weight within a normal range, eating a diet full of nutrient-dense foods, exercising consistently, and choosing healthier versions of treats…and if you do indulge, enjoy those sweets in moderation by sharing with a friend or only buying a small portion. Your future health will thank you!
